This years Grand Final Party will be better then ever. We have a new location, private room, and Prizes galore!!! This is the Squids largest fundraiser of the year and we can't wait to see you all there. You probably noticed the Florida United Logo on the image, It's official St. Kilda has helped us out with Jumpers and other support to help the combined team from Tampa and Ft. lauderdale succeed at nationals this October.
This Friday marks the last freee weekend for one of our players.. Brad Klose. Join us on his last night of Freedom this Friday at 8pm (AFTER PRACTICE). We'll be kicking off the evening at McGuire's Hill 16 ( on the west side of Andrews Ave. A few blocks north of Broward Blvd.)
The Traveling FU team fell by a 60 point margin. Travel, injuries, and youth seemed to be the demise of the club. Players at the match commented on difficulties turning from Defense to Offense and vice versa.
FU must now regroup as they are looking at a division 3 birth in just over 10 weeks. Couple that with the weather, and park renovations the boys down in Ft. lauderdale have a hard road in front of them.
Yes Boys, the update is finally here. Florida United(FU) a combination of Ft. Lauderdale and Tampa, approved by USFooty, was a major victor in the May 10th match up of South East teams.
The FU Boys got out to a 9 goal lead by the end of the first quarter and never looked back. On a scorcher of a day, 95f, both teams felt the effects of the sun. By the time the game had settled the boys of FU had proved victorius with a win of 155-10.
FU looks forward to our next matchup July 19th in Nashville. A win here could provide a case for a Division 2 berth in the 2008 Nationals.

The weekend has passed and 3 of the best teams in the nation and the national team have all departed home. The weather has actually cooled and we've had a few days to reflect back on the accomplishments of the past weekend:
The Fighting Squids and Florida Redbacks combined this past weekend at the faststream Spring Invitational as they plan to do throughout the course of the year. The thing that impressed most players and fans was not just how well they played, but how well the two squads played together, given this was there first official grouping.
The Grounds were in prime condition and laid out East to West. While the field seemed a bit short, the width more then made up for it in the 85 degree heat and 70% humidity. The Florida side fell early to a surge by the Baltimore/DC Eagles. However they rallied back in a surprise upset against the Denver Bulldogs in the middle of the day. A close
match up seemed to slip away in the waning minutes against the New York Magpies, leaving the Unified Florida Team at 1-2 for the day agains the #1, #2, & #5 teams in the nation. With best on ground votes for the weekend going to: Alex M (RB), CJ (RB), Ryan (RB), Ryan M (SQ), John (SQ), and Phil D (SQ). The combined side from Florida showed excellent teamwork & skill.
The Sunday match up however really summed up the season to date for the Florida boys. With just 16 showing and loaning 6 from the Revos, The Florida side stayed within ~20 points final score of the Revos, a feat not accomplished the day prior by a composite of all teams. A unified Florida team looks forward to the rest of their schedule and hopes to make a serious run at either Div 2 or 3 in Colorado Springs this October.
